Whether it's good or bad feedback, Nicki Minaj has everyone talking about her performance at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday evening (February 12) in Los Angeles.
Following an introduction from Young Money labelmate Drake, the New York rapper offered one unique stage show as she debuted her latest single, "Roman Holiday" off her upcoming album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, to close out the show.
Nicki kicked off the performance while strapped to a leather table onstage, rapping backed by a goth-looking church choir that sang a haunting version of "O Come, All Ye Faithful." Her red carpet entrance before the show, accompanied by a man dressed like the Pope, was definitely a prelude of what was to come ... as she continued her church-act onstage.
Surrounded by stained glass and other religious imagery, she finished her last very lifted by an invisible rope as if she was levitating.
It was definitely a headscratcher...

Nicki Minaj Performance Angers Some!
"Perhaps the most vulgar part was the sexual statement that showed a scantily clad female dancer stretching backwards while an altar boy knelt between her legs in prayer. Finally, 'Come All Ye Faithful' was sung while a man posing as a bishop walked on stage; Minaj was shown levitating."
Donahue was willing to spread the blame around, too.
"None of this was by accident, and all of it was approved by The Recording Academy, which puts on the Grammys. Whether Minaj is possessed is surely an open question, but what is not in doubt is the irresponsibility of The Recording Academy. Never would they allow an artist to insult Judaism or Islam."
